Assistant Nurse Manager - Emergency - this position is full-time and will work 12-hour Night shifts.
This is a multi-specialty, fast-paced ED that sees an average of 300 patients per day. We are a level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI receiving facility and an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP). We are also a Paramedic Base Station. We care for a variety of patients in a 4:1 (patient to nurse) ratio in three distinct treatment areas: a) the main ED which consists of 24 beds and several hallways that can be utilized as care areas, b) the ED extensions (EDX1 and EDX2) with eight beds each and c) a Rapid Medical Exam (RME) area where lower acuity patients are evaluated by mid-level providers.
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is responsible for assisting the nurse manager/director in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit. In collaboration with the nurse manager/director, assumes responsibility for the management and staffing of the unit. The ANM manages and coordinates the unit, directs and supervises functions and activities, interprets policies/procedures/protocols, standards, and regulations as appropriate. The scope of responsibility spans all aspects of nursing care. The ANM maintains clinical competence and certifications to assist the unit when required.
